Small Business Consulting

Do you own a small business or are you interested in starting one? Take advantage of free business consulting at the Main Branch this month, Dec. 13 by making an appointment be- tween 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Receive a private, one-hour consulting session in areas including business plans, advertising plans, inventory control, financial projections, cost analysis, and much more. This program is sponsored by the Louisiana Small Business Development Center at Southeastern Louisiana University. Join the cookbook challenge

Calling all home cooks, amateur bakers and wannabe chefs! Ages 18 and up can learn to cook, improve your skills, or show off your kitchen talent in the Main Branch ’s new culi- nary book club. Our next meeting is Dec. 14 at 6:00 p.m. New members are always welcome. Each month, we each choose a recipe based on a theme. The following month, participants bring their cooked dish back for everyone to sample. If you are interested in becoming a member, come eat and socialize with us. Young Writers Club

Calling all young writers! The Denham Springs-Walker Branch’s Young Writers Club meets, Dec. 19 at 5:00 p.m. Open to ages 12-18, the club’s goal is to help each another become better writers, to provide inspiration, and to offer advice and support. Each meeting, members practice writing in many different styles and genres to fine-tune skills and challenge themselves. Writers of all genres are welcome. The Art Studio: Acrylic Painting for teens

Broaden your understanding and skills in a variety of fine arts through this Albany-Springfield Branch recurring teen program! This month’s studio meeting, Dec. 11 at 4:30 p.m. features guest artist Lisa Kluka, who will be teaching a fluid acrylic painting technique. Create a unique canvas piece to take home. LEGO Meets Edison Robots

Joyful Reads Book Club

Do you love uplifting tales of hope and faith?
