Natasha Marie Bridal Boutique is now open

One young woman’s lifelong dream had been to custom design wedding gowns. She worked on mastering the craft of sewing and designing beautiful gowns, and eventually found success in her home studio in Watson, doing everything from sketching the design to making the pattern to constructing and completion, under the Natasha Marie label.

The opening of the Natasha Marie Bridal Boutique in the Denham Springs Antiques Village is a dream come true for designer Natasha Popic Miller.

The opening of the Natasha Marie Bridal Boutique in the Denham Springs Antiques Village is a dream come true for designer Natasha Popic Miller.

For Natasha Popich Miller, it was fulfilling to realize her dream and to make each customer’s perfect wedding gown a reality, but as her success grew so did the demands on her time.
“Designing dresses is a very time consuming process, which came to make balancing family life and work a bit of a challenge,” she explained. “After struggling to find long term sewing help and countless sleepless nights to meet the demands of custom clients, we decided to rebrand Natasha Marie Bridal as a bridal boutique. It became clear that this was God’s plan when the perfect location became available at the perfect time.”
The “perfect location” is 235 N Range Ave., in the Denham Springs Antiques Village, in the building previously occupied by Louisiana Purchases antiques and just renovated by the building’s new owners, Stuart and Renée Salassi who operate Salassi Jewelry in the corner suite.
Natasha now offers beautiful bridal gowns by other designers. The store stocks samples for brides to try on, and their actual individual gowns are ordered in the bride’s size. They offer sizes 2-32.
But don’t think Natasha has completely given up her 20 years of sewing experience.
“We have hand-selected top quality designer gowns at bridal market, each of which is completely customizable. This way we are still able to offer our brides the opportunity to make their gown unique to them,” she said.
Having the business owner/designer with almost 10 years of experience in the bridal industry in-house and available for consultation is a great advantage for brides-to-be when discussing gown choices and design customizations.
The timeline for ordering a wedding dress is approximately 5-6 months, plus 6 weeks for alterations. Some designers offer rush options for brides that are in a time crunch. Additional fees apply.
“But keep in mind,” Natasha added, “if you plan to take pre-wedding bridal portraits, you need to count the timeline back from the portrait date, not the wedding date. Photographers may require two months or more to produce a portrait to be displayed at the wedding, so check with your photographer early.”
